A leper, a bald-man and a blind-man

Teaching stories have been used throughout time as a way to transmit wisdom. In Hadith literature there are a number of stories that have been related by Prophet Muhammad in the context of teaching valuable lessons for humanity.
The following story is related in Sahih Bukhari (004.056.670) Translated by Thomas Cleary
The Prophet told a story, "There were three Israelites, a leper, a bald man, and a blind one. In order to test them, God sent an angel to them."

The angel came to the leper and said, "What would you like most?"

He said, "A good complexion and good skin, and riddance of that for which people have considered me unclean."

Then the angel passed his hand over him, and his uncleanness disappeared from him, and he acquired a good complexion.

Now the angel said, "And what would you like most to have?"

He said, "Camels."

Things to learn from Japan.

Ten things to learn from Japan Earthquake/Tsunami/Nuclear reactors

1. THE CALM

Not a single visual of chest-beating or wild grief. Sorrow itself has been elevated.

2. THE DIGNITY

Disciplined queues for water and groceries. Not a rough word or a crude gesture.

3. THE ABILITY

The incredible architects, for instance. Buildings swayed but didn’t fall.

4. THE GRACE

People bought only what they needed for the present, so everybody could get something.

5. THE ORDER

No looting in shops. No honking and no overtaking on the roads. Just understanding.

6. THE SACRIFICE

Fifty workers stayed back to pump sea water in the N-reactors. How will they ever be repaid?

7. THE TENDERNESS

Restaurants cut prices. An unguarded ATM is left alone. The strong cared for the weak.

8. THE TRAINING

The old and the children, everyone knew exactly what to do. And they did just that.

9. THE MEDIA

They showed magnificent restraint in the bulletins. No silly reporters. Only calm reportage.

10. THE CONSCIENCE

When the power went off in a store, people put things back on the shelves and left quietly!

Beautiful Surat-ul-Mulk Video Compilation

Asalamu Alaykum wr wb,

Please do take just 10 minutes out of your time to watch this video - it is beautifully constructed!  The images correspond to the verses being recited, allowing the words to have a truly powerful impact.  A great eye-opener, and a sadaqah jariya for the brother who made it.  Don't forget to pass it on to others and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity of earning some sadaqa jariya for yourself!

The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said,
'There is a surah in the Qur'an which is only thirty verses. It defended whoever recited
it until it puts him into paradise' i.e. Surah al Mulk
[Fath al Qadir 5/257, Sahihul Jamiea 1/680, Tabrani in Al-Awsat & Ibn Mardawaith]

بسم اللہ الرحمٰن الرحیم

Dear All,

Detection of lying

Allah Almighty tells us in the Qur’an about signs of lying in face and voice of the liar, let us read
Face detection
Researchers have noticed some facial changes when speaking. Thus, they experienced it by photographing a man telling truth, and just in the lying moment, specific features appear on his face, which are different from those appearing in the truth state. But, these features are very rapid that human being eye cannot see.
“Polygraph lie detectors are notoriously unreliable: 10 percent of liars pass, and 20 percent of truth tellers fail. But the real truth is written all over your face” says cognitive scientist Marian Stewart Bartlett, at the Institute for Neural Computation in San Diego.
Now there's a way to catch liars in the act. Bartlett and several colleagues at the Salk Institute have developed a high-speed computer program that analyzes videotapes to automatically detect a subject's micro expressions. The program superimposes a grid over a baseline black-and-white photograph of the subject's face devoid of all expression. Any change in expression, no matter how subtle or fast, registers on the grid as a departure from baseline. For example, if eyebrows lower in anger, they leave their neutral position--a movement documented by the computer. "The method it uses," Bartlett says, "is based on the way the brain interprets vision." The neurons that deal with vision each look at a different part of an image, and the brain assembles the information.
Every emotion a person feels elicits an involuntary facial expression, but often just for a split second. When someone tries to cover those emotions, the expression passes so quickly most people miss it.
Allah tells us about this scientific fact as He Almighty says about atheists who denies the Qur’an: (And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, you will notice a denial on the faces of the disbelievers!){Sûrat Al-Hajj -The Pilgrimage –verse72}.

Believe or Not, Life is a Game

"The greatest tragedy is not death, but life without purpose"
Rick Warren (author of "The Purpose Driven Life" book (

What is the purpose of life? Do you think that life is a game? Have you ever asked yourself or other people what is the purpose of life? And what was the answer?

The answer of the question can't be concluded through observation or analytical reasoning but simply they will tell you what is "commonly presumed" by others, i.e., what my father said purpose of life is, what the minister of my church said the purpose of life is, what my teacher in school said, what my friend said, etc..,

Women Empowerment: A Different Perspective

By Shahidur Rashid Talukdar,
Here is the paradox. In one hand, we have ladies leading our countries and on the other hand, we are not even letting others see the face of the earth. Based on the declining sex ratio, a recent study has predicted that by 2020 India will experience twenty percent more males than females! This is the worst possible discrimination that we can inflict on women. We are denying them their right to be born!
From times immemorial, women have been at the receiving end of both joy as well as misery. In mythology, we idolize them and in our temples, some of us, worship them. At home, we love and respect them as mothers and sisters. In our youth, we dream about them. We admire them for their beauty and grace. The list goes on. However, the reality says, despite all these nicest feelings from our side, women are still oppressed! Our collective love, respect, and admiration fail to give them a place in the society they truly deserve! Is not it ironic? Individually, all of us seem to be or at least, pose to be, nice guys: quite benevolent to our female counterparts. Where is the mismatch, then?
Well, however, we pose ourselves but the truth is that the society has, by and large, been patriarchal. Over history of time, across the geography of the world, as I am not sure about the rest of the universe, policies have favored male supremacy. Encompassing all the frameworks of religious, social, and political spheres, we have devised policies that give us a greater pleasure, better position, more power, higher degree of freedom, and better share of opportunities. The consequences of our policies now we can see in our vicinity. I am not endeavoring to go for analysis of communities or scriptures, as it is none of my objective here to describe who did what, which religion suppressed women more and which gave them more rights.
Women in Islam
However, recently there has been considerable debates about ‘can Islam liberate women or not’, but the outcome, as usual, is blurred. Though the scriptures give a certain degree of rights, the practice of the followers i.e. the Muslims are significantly different from the scriptures. Although some of the greatest crimes against women such as female infanticide are less prevalent in Muslim societies, honor killings fill the gap. In practice, Muslims follow their scriptures fairly selectively. And above all, there has been little effort to look into the implied meaning of the scriptures rather than the literal. So ultimately, it becomes another phase of the same old story.

Ways of winning your husband’s love

This list, mostly contributed by Muslim women at the MuslimMatters.org blog, is all about winning your husband’s love.
1. Behave like a female, i.e. with all the tenderness of a female.

2. Dress pleasantly and attractively. If you are a home-maker, don’t stay in your sleeping suit all day.

3. Smell good
attar.

4. Don’t lay out all your problems on your husband as soon as he walks in. Give him a little mental break.

5. Don’t keep asking him ‘what are you thinking?’ because unlike women, men’s thoughts are as random as the results of a google search. Women on the other hand have thoughts as organized as a labeled file-cabinet!

6. Stop nagging non-stop before Allah gives you something really to complain about.

7. Absolutely no talking about your spousal problems to anyone you meet under the pretense of seeking help, even if you are the victim. If you think you want to solve legitimate marital issues then go seek counseling with the right person.

8. Be kind to your mother-in-law the same way you would like your husband to be kind to your own mother.

9. Learn all the rights and obligations of each other in Islam.

10. Race to the door when he comes home, as if y ou were waiting for him. Smile and hug.

From the above table we have to demonstrate three amazing conclusions:
Allah Almighty says: (Verily, the likeness of Jesus before Allah is the likeness of Adam){Sûrat Al-Imrân -The Family of Imran –verse 59}.
The first: is that the word Jesusis repeated in the Qur’an 25 times the same as the wordAdam!!!! The second: number of times the word Adam was mentioned from the beginning of the Qur’an up to this crucial verse is 7 times, and the number of times Jesus was mentioned from the beginning of the Qur’an up to this verse is also 7 times. The third: is that the word Adam is mentioned for the 19th time in the Qur’an and also the word Jesusis mentioned for the 19th time in chapter with the name Mary [Sûrat Maryam] which is the chapter number 19 in the holy Qur’an.
All of these conclusions are considered to be a coincidence or a miracle?!!!!!
Indeed it is a miracle because Allah Almighty made a challenge to all mankind and jinn by saying: (Say: "If the mankind and the jinns were together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another."){Sûrat Al-Isrâ’-The Journey by Night -verse88}.
